Ugljan at the Uvala Saline, when approaching the harbor you should pay attention to the unconcreted shallow east of the harbor and enter at night only in the sector of the pier lights.
With a little luck you can find a berth on the inside of the outer pier at 3m water depth. The small harbour with its narrow entrance is for local small boats only and behind it is a former salt works. Restaurants, a Kanoba and the supermarket are located directly at the harbour. But the best place to anchor is in the small northern bay near the monastery peninsula (water depth about 5m). From here you can walk along the shore path into the village or you can go shopping by dinghy.
In Ugljan you will find some historical sights, such as an estate, (villa rustica) and a mausoleum from antiquity, the ruins of an early Christian basilica and an oil press (1st century AD). The Franciscan monastery on the northern peninsula was built around 1430 and is well preserved and can be visited. In this old cultural landscape "all Europe has romped" and you can find its "remains" everywhere. As on all Croatian islands, people lived here for centuries from viticulture, olive oil, fishing and today tourism has been added.
