The "dike bridge" in Wilhelmshaven remains closed for passage in the Ems-Jade Canal.

However, emergency openings will take place from Monday to Friday at 12:15 pm for approx. 15 minutes.
As the bridge is currently still being turned by hand by the contractors, it is not yet possible to open it at the weekend.

Changes will be announced in good time.

Ems-Jade Canal

The Ems-Jade Canal provides the link between the Jade Bay and the Ems inland. With a length of 72.3 km, it is a state waterway and is operated by the Lower Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation Agency (NLWKN). The maximum permitted speed is 8 km/h, the clearance height at normal water level is 3.80 m and the maximum unloading depth is 1.7 m.

    Route Emden-Upschört-Emden: weekdays 08:00-12:30 and 13:30-16:00 on Saturdays 08:00-13:00
    Route Upschört-Schleuse Mariensiel-Upschört: Mondays and Fridays (registration for days). Fridays (registration - 2 days in advance under 04956/1207)
    Mon.Fri. start times:08.00 and 13.00 end 17.00
    Convoy trips from15.04. to start of main season and end of main season until 30.10.
  • 13.11.2024 - 16.03.2025 (winter season)
    Route Emden-Sanderbusch-Emden: weekdays 08:00-14:30, until 16.00 hrs by appointment

Vom 1. September 2022 bis vorraussichtlich Ende April 2023 ist die Eisenbahnbrücke in Mariensiel für die Schifffahrt gesperrt. Eine durchgehende Fahrt nach Wilhelmshaven ist somit nicht möglich!
